About

The Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, offers a groundbreaking Artist Residencies program that emphasizes cultural exchange and artistic development. Located in the historic mahallas of Tashkent, the program provides an immersive experience for artists, researchers, and curators from around the world. The residencies aim to foster dialogue between international and Uzbek practitioners while preserving and revitalizing Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage. Participants benefit from living quarters, creative studios, and access to resources like Central Asia’s first curatorial research library. The Namuna mahalla hosts up to four multidisciplinary artists, offering facilities such as workshops for printmaking, ceramics, and textiles, as well as a sound studio. The Khast Imom mahalla accommodates researchers or curators in a serene setting ideal for intellectual work. Through these residencies, CCA bridges local traditions and global perspectives, creating a platform for collaborative and transformative artistic endeavors.
