The Romantso Residency is a self-directed programme for artists, designers, architects, writers, researchers, curators and other creative practitioners seeking the time and space to develop their work while immersing themselves in one of Athens' most active creative communities. Based within the Romantso Creative Hub, residents become part of a vibrant ecosystem of cultural organisations, creative businesses and independent professionals, while also gaining access to the wider BIOS network of venues, programmes and communities across the city.

The Residency Our year-round Artist Residency offers local and international creatives a space for reflection, experimentation, and artistic growth. Nestled just a 20-minute walk from the historic city center and a 25-minute bus ride to the beach, the lovingly furnished apartment becomes both a sanctuary and a launchpad for your artistic journey. This residency is ideal for artists with a deep interest in nature, mythology, fantasy, and the rich cultural tapestry of the Apennine Peninsula. Whether you are a visual artist, writer, dancer, land artist, photographer, performer, or interdisciplinary creator, you are welcome here. We especially embrace artists who are seeking space not only to create—but to pause. The Space The apartment—bright, peaceful, and full of charm—is located on the noble promenade of Viale XX Settembre, a leafy pedestrian avenue lined with cafés, historic buildings, and hidden stories. Once the elegant strolling path of 19th-century nobility, it remains one of the city’s most enchanting walks. Perfect for individuals, families, or small artistic teams, the apartment accommodates up to 6 guests. It includes: -Two double bedrooms (one with an additional bed) -A cozy living room with a sofa bed (1 person can sleep here) and TV -A fully equipped eat-in kitchen (dishwasher, oven, induction hob, refrigerator, kettle, toaster, moka pot) -A Triestine-style bathroom layout (toilet and bidet in one room, bathtub in another) -Washing machine, air conditioning, independent heating, and WiFi -The apartment is on the first floor of a quiet, historic building (no elevator). During Your Stay -Our team is on call for any issues or support. -Please respect quiet hours: 9 PM–8 AM and 1 PM–4 PM. -To support energy sustainability, keep winter heating below 20°C. -No smoking, parties, or unregistered guests. -No bicycles or prams in the hallway. Contribution The monthly participation fee is €1800, which can be shared among multiple artists. Shorter stays (minimum 14 days) are welcomed and calculated proportionally. Along Viale XX Settembre, explore charming cafés, artisan pizzerias (we recommend Al Civico 6), and the literary café Lettera Viva. In spring and winter, local markets and festivals enliven the atmosphere. Stroll from the Rossetti Theater to Piazza Unità, the largest square in Europe facing the sea. Visit the Grand Canal, the Church of St. Anthony, and the elegant architecture reminiscent of Austro-Hungarian days. We are excited to welcome ideas with a focus on green innovation, encouraging work with local, reclaimed or recycled materials such as wood, glass, sisal fibre and seaweed.

Ey!Studio AiR offers residents the opportunity to develop their projects while becoming part of a temporary community of artists, curators, researchers and cultural practitioners from different backgrounds and disciplines. The programme encourages exchange and dialogue between residents while supporting the visibility of projects developed during the residency. Residents are provided with a private room and access to a shared workspace with natural light and dedicated working areas. This setup combines independent work with everyday interaction, encouraging meaningful exchanges and connections throughout the residency. The programme welcomes applications from artists, curators, researchers and other cultural practitioners of any nationality and age. Projects from a wide range of disciplines and contemporary practices are welcome, including visual arts, filmmaking, writing, dramaturgy, music, artistic research, and hybrid or experimental approaches. The working languages of the residency are Spanish and English. Each residency period hosts between one and six residents. Residencies may last from one to three months. As part of Ey!Studio’s curatorial programme, visual artists and filmmakers may choose to participate in a collective exhibition of former residents. One artwork or audiovisual project from each participating resident will be selected and held on deposit at Ey!Studio for inclusion in a future curated exhibition organised by the space. The exhibition takes place after the residency and forms part of Ey!Studio’s ongoing curatorial programme. For this reason, the residency does not conclude with an open studio or public presentation. Recognising that different projects require different forms of support, Ey!Studio offers two ways of participating in its residency programme. ＞Self-directed residency Designed for residents who wish to develop their projects autonomously during their stay. This option is particularly suited to research-based projects, writing, music, conceptual development, interdisciplinary practices, or projects that do not require specific curatorial guidance. ＞Curatorial mentorship option Designed for visual artists and filmmakers who wish to incorporate curatorial guidance and feedback into their residency experience. This option includes three curatorial mentoring sessions for every four-week residency period, conducted by a curator selected by the Ey!Studio team. Participation in this option is subject to an additional fee, detailed in the “Participation Fees” section. The selected participation option must be indicated at the time of application and cannot be changed once the residency has begun. ＞＞What We Offer: ＞Residential facilities: Private room for each resident. The Ou-telier is an intimate, process-based artist residency and writing retreat located in a historic boatbuilding workshop in the beautiful Quw’utsun/Warmland of the Cowichan Valley, the heart of Vancouver Island. We welcome applications from emerging and established writers, painters, photographers, textile + 2D artists, and host up to four artists at a time. We’re looking for creatives who demonstrate a commitment to their practice and love hosting folks who are self-directed, focused and kind. Casamance is a land rich of green, water, sacred trees, animistic dances, rituals and ethnic groups. The people from Casamance are known as women centred society resisting imperial and colonial forces. We will join their daily life, experiencing dance and music as a life integrated and social practice. From the fraternity between the Afroalamuta association of Barcelona and the Foret Sacrée company of Ziguinchor, in 2016 the Centro Artístico Sociocultural Abéne, CASA, was founded in the south of Senegal, in the Haute Casamance, near the beach. Being a bridge of cultural immersion for all participants through sustainable exchange and artistic residencies. On this trip we live together with the artists of the company in the centre. They lead the dance, singing and percussion workshops, and propose excursions to get to know the environment and customs. The rooms are double or triple, with bathroom and private shower. Water and electricity are provided by solar energy. We practice responsible use. We accompany you on this journey of encounter with yourself. We organise from the admiration and respect. With love for the art and culture of the ethnic groups that predominate in Casamance, mainly Mandinka and Diola. For us this is a path of life and constant learning, and we want to share it with you. Hi, we are Grisel Antelo and Elena Molina, founders of the Arthaus Residency. We established it as a creative hub in Havana, back in 2016, to support artistic innovation and cultural exchange. Over the past eight years, Arthaus Residency has proudly hosted more than 50 artists working in fine arts, theater, filmmaking, music, writing, journalism, new media and more. Our residents have engaged in creative projects, collaborations, and cultural exchanges, contributing to the vibrant artistic community that defines Arthaus. Their diverse practices and contributions have shaped the residency into a dynamic hub for artistic innovation and dialogue in Havana.

We-Che Art Residency is an artist run project, founded and designed by artists for artists. Located near Trevelin in the Chubut region of Patagonia Argentina, it is indeed the most austral Art Residency. We have launched this year our general AIR program. We offer a tranquil workspace in an inspiring environment, a place to connect with other artists and engage with Patagonia as a complex natural, historical, and cultural ecosystem, fostering a respectful relationship between art and nature. We-Che Welcome international nature focused artists, writers and creative searchers, emerging or established, of any country and any discipline if their project fits to We-Che’s structures and facilities. Depending on the project, we can adapt our spaces and set up different equipments. That’s why we recommend applicants to detail their projects and needs. We-Che offers 2 distincts AIR program. General AIR program for fully self directed projects. Artists are free and autonomous in their practice and how they use their time at We-Che. If needed obviously we may punctually give a hand, and normal help and support. The duration can be modulated from 1 week to 2 month.
