About

Centre Pompadour, located in a château in Ercourt, Northern France, is the first and only feminist creative residency in Europe dedicated to exploring contemporary feminism and gender studies through creative, scientific, and artistic endeavors. Founded by Michaela Spiegel and housed in a renovated 19th-century château, the residency offers a serene and inspiring environment, complete with private rooms, communal workspaces, and expansive gardens. The program runs annually from mid-July to late September, catering to creative professionals who focus on feminist empowerment and gender equality in their projects. Residents can participate through invitation, a competitive grant application, or a paid residency option. The facilities include a library, themed films, and areas for relaxation and personal work, emphasizing privacy and tranquility conducive to creative work.
