Chautauqua Visual Arts offers two artist residencies, a Six-Week and a Two-Week Residency, each fostering an environment of creative growth and intellectual engagement. Set within the historic Chautauqua Institution, these residencies provide artists with individual studio spaces and access to comprehensive facilities including ceramics, printmaking, digital media studios, and more. Participants can engage with a vibrant community and attend world-class lectures and performances across various disciplines. The program is deeply interactive, with opportunities for studio visits from faculty and visiting artists, promoting critical feedback and collaborative exchange. Residents are encouraged to participate in community events and share their insights, benefiting from Chautauqua’s rich educational and cultural offerings. Each residency concludes with a public exhibition, allowing artists to present their work to a diverse audience.
