Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne, Australia, offers the Studio Residency Program, initiated in 1985, which supports 16 artists for two-year periods through a highly competitive application process, with studios located at their Preston South premises. These non-residential studios are highly subsidised (with a $300 monthly fee) and cater to professional contemporary artists working in diverse mediums including sculpture, painting, performance, installation, photography, video, drawing, and experimental practices. Additionally, they provide invitation-only residencies for visiting international artists and curators at the partnered Norma Redpath Studio, facilitating engagement with Melbourne's art community.
