The Herhúsið Artist Residency in Siglufjörður, Iceland, offers a unique space for Icelandic and international artists to create contemporary art. Established in 2005, this residency is housed in a historic 1914 building, providing a 70 square meter workshop and a bright studio apartment. The program accommodates one artist at a time, offering amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, wireless internet, and a spacious workshop with high ceilings and hardwood floors. Artists in various media, including visual arts, writing, poetry, and music, are encouraged to apply. Situated in the center of town, Herhúsið provides easy access to local services and the beautiful landscape of northern Iceland. The residency aims to support artists in their creative process by offering a peaceful retreat and a supportive community. Monthly fees are €750 for one guest, with an additional €250 per extra person. The residency also offers the opportunity for artists to engage with the local culture and history, making it an enriching experience both artistically and personally.
