Medalta, located in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, is a dynamic center for creativity, community engagement, and education, offering a variety of artist residency programs for both national and international artists. Medalta’s residencies range from short-term one-month stays to year-long opportunities, with the flexibility to accommodate different schedules. The residency provides artists 24-hour access to studio facilities, including access to the Historic Clay District, and opportunities to exhibit their work in the gallery. Resident artists contribute to the community by teaching in Medalta’s Education programs and engaging in local projects. On-site accommodations are available at the BMO Artist Lodge for an additional cost. Medalta is committed to nurturing creativity and fostering connections within the ceramics community, supported by local, provincial, and federal funding.
