Ras de Terra is an independent, eco-conscious cultural center and artist residency located in the rural region of La Vera, Spain. Founded by Mónica Sánchez-Robles and Juan Urquiola, it serves as a space where artists and creatives can immerse themselves in nature while working on diverse projects. Situated in a rehabilitated tobacco dryer on 5 hectares of land, Ras de Terra promotes sustainability through solar energy and regenerative agriculture, offering artists a chance to engage with the environment in a meaningful way. The residency fosters both local and international exchange, and it encourages projects addressing rural issues, climate change, and sustainability. Open to artists across various disciplines, the residency emphasizes community, collaboration, and creativity in an inspiring rural setting. Accommodation and workspace are provided, with flexible durations ranging from one week to one month, and the center supports residents in seeking external funding.
