Residencia Epecuén is an international artist residency located in Carhué, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the shores of Lake Epecuén. Designed for artists, curators, and researchers, the program focuses on site-specific and ephemeral art practices in relation to history, landscape, and memory. Over 14 days, participants engage in field research, guided workshops, and curatorial support to develop projects that interact with the ruins of Epecuén and the surrounding environment. The residency encourages artistic exploration across various disciplines, including performance, sound art, photography, video, sculpture, ceramics, writing, and experimental theater. Residents benefit from a structured program including historical site visits, guided discussions, portfolio reviews, and open studio exhibitions. The program fosters critical dialogue and exchange between artists and the local community, integrating contemporary art with cultural heritage. Accommodations are in a shared house, with access to studio space and a ceramics workshop. The residency is produced by Ambos Mundos Arte Actual, promoting artistic projects locally and internationally.
